Job summary

Kokosing is seeking Carpenters (Heavy Highway – Roadway/Bridge projects) with experience in form work for bridges and structures to work on bridge and roadway projects across Northern VA/DC/MD area and Wallops Island, VA. Candidates should have hands-on experience with form work, blueprints, and tools, and be able to work in challenging outdoor environments.

The role requires adherence to safety practices, ability to interpret plans, and comfort working at height.

Qualifications

• Carpenter Training Program or bridge work experience is expected.
• Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and bridge plans.
• Experience with form work for bridges/structures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work while tied off to fall protection.
• Skilled in use of necessary hand and power tools.
• Measures boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines on materials.
• Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
