Job summary

Fred Smith Company is seeking a Site Construction Supervisor to lead a crew on a bridge construction project in North Carolina. You will collaborate with the superintendent and project manager to develop construction plans, safety procedures, and long-range scheduling.

You will manage a crew of 6-12 workers, coordinate equipment and subcontractors, and ensure timely material deliveries and compliance with safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.
• Minimum of 5 years prior experience working in bridge construction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with superintendent and manager to develop project construction plan.
• Assist superintendent and/or manager in developing site safety plan.
• Complete a three week look ahead schedule on a weekly basis.
• Use look ahead schedule to assist superintendent and manager in developing long range schedule.
• Communicate with owner's representative, inspectors and any other project personnel.
• Manage and provide direction to a crew of 6-12 carpenters, operators and laborers including: Daily safety discussions, Specific task instruction, Manage equipment necessary to complete the project (cranes, excavators, bulldozers, etc.), Communicate equipment needs, Coordinate maintenance if required, Maintain required equipment inspection paperwork, Schedule, direct and manage subcontractors and the work they perform, Schedule material delivery, communicate material needs to superintendent or manager, Responsible for maintenance and security of all tools.
