Job summary

LJB Inc. is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer – Project Manager in Portland, ME to lead bridge engineering projects within the Transportation Practice. You will act as primary client contact, manage project scope, fees, and profitability, and coordinate with sub-consultants and internal teams to deliver multi-discipline work.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, a P.E. license, and 10+ years of relevant experience, with DOT project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
• P.E. license required.
• 10+ years of experience in consulting or engineering.
• Experience working with DOTs.

Responsibilities

• Manage scope, fees, and profitability of projects and project portfolio.
• Serve as point person with clients and as project manager.
• Assist in new sales with clients for projects.
• Coordinate internal transportation disciplines with sub-consultants and clients.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure project success.
• Ensure understanding of transportation disciplines in bridge design.
• Support PM best practices across operations.
• On large projects, may participate in design.
• Report employee performance to management.
• Assist in staffing future projects.
