Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Summer 2026 Bridge Engineering Internship with our Indianapolis team. You will expand your engineering skills under mentorship on major bridge and roadway projects, gaining exposure to design and analysis tasks.

The role requires coursework in transportation or structural engineering, a Civil/Structural degree, and strong communication. This internship offers hands-on experience with CAD (MicroStation), MS Office, and industry software in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Coursework in transportation or structural engineering.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field.
• Ability to manage multiple bridge/roadway projects concurrently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office and CAD (MicroStation preferred) and knowledge of engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Determine creative and innovative methods for complex bridge engineering problems and select the most economical solution.
• Ensure designs comply with Federal, State, and local requirements and industry practices.
• Provide specifications, estimations, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and construction documents.
• May be assigned to a project or team as a design engineer for mid-to-large scale projects.
