Job summary

United Consulting seeks an Engineering Intern in Indiana to join the Bridge department. The role involves assisting with design calculations, quantity and cost estimates, and plans under supervision.

Candidates are working toward a BS in Civil Engineering and will gain hands-on experience in a consulting environment. Under supervision, you will collaborate with internal teams, assemble supplements and proposals, meet deadlines, and uphold client and company confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Working to obtain Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Able to work independently with instruction
• Possess strong communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills required to work in a “team” concept
• Able to work on multiple projects at once
• Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, ACAD software
• Detail oriented

Responsibilities

• Prepare various components of design calculations with oversight
• Prepare various components of quantity calculations with oversight
• Prepare various components of cost estimates with oversight
• Prepare various components of plans with oversight
• Work and coordinate with other internal departments
• Assist in assembling Supplements, Proposals, and Engineer’s Reports
• Meet deadlines
• Alert Project Team Leaders immediately upon realization of a problem on a project
• Maintain the confidentiality of information regarding our clients and company practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
