Parsons is inviting applications for its Summer 2027 Bridge Internship in Centreville, Virginia. You'll enhance your civil/structural engineering skills through direct mentorship on major regional bridge and roadway projects.

The internship offers exposure to design teams within the Critical Infrastructure group, helping you grow professional skills while contributing to real-world infrastructure solutions.

Qualifications

• Completion of prior coursework in transportation or structural engineering.
• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in and ability to work on multiple bridge or roadway projects simultaneously.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, CAD software (MicroStation preferred), and a solid understanding of industry standards and applicable engineering software.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Prior internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing creative and innovative solutions for complex bridge engineering challenges, selecting the most efficient methods.
• Ensuring designs comply with Federal, State, and local agency requirements and industry practices.
• Preparing specifications, estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses.
• Reviewing supplier drawing submittals and conducting technical bid analyses.
• Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Contributing as part of a project or organizational team, or serving as a design engineer for intermediate to large-scale projects.
