Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) seeks a Structural/Bridge Engineer with 4+ years of bridge design and analysis experience to join our structural engineering team in Richmond, VA, or other office locations.

The role includes leading projects, mentoring staff, and interacting with DOT and municipal agencies. The ideal candidate holds an ABET‑accredited Civil Engineering degree, PE licensure or reciprocity within 6 months, and proficiency with common bridge software tools.

Qualifications

• Requires PE licensure or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire.
• 4+ years in bridge design and analysis (concrete and steel).
• Experience with planning, inspection, load ratings, contract docs, and construction support.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and check structural analysis, design plans, specifications, and estimates for bridge projects.
• Lead and mentor team members through the design process.
• Develop construction documents and cost estimates.
• Perform structural inspections/field investigations as needed.
