Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Senior Structural/Bridge Engineer with 10+ years in analysis and design of new and rehabilitation structures to join our Towson, MD team or other office locations.

You will lead engineering design for highway and pedestrian bridges, retaining walls, load rating, and related projects, while mentoring staff and coordinating with DOTs, counties, and municipalities across states as part of our interoffice staff program.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required; structural emphasis preferred.
• PE licensure or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months.
• 10+ years of project and client management experience with strong DOT/bridge exposure.
• Proficient in MS Office and business development activities.
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a lead technical role on bridge or structural design projects.
• Plan, direct and monitor multi-discipline projects with technical complexity.
• Establish client relations and participate in marketing, contracts and production meetings.
• Conduct design sessions with PMs, professionals, and other disciplines.
• Ensure deliverables meet standards and client/AMT requirements.
• Coordinate staffing and workload through project development to completion.
• Work with managers for project reviews and QA/QC of bridge plans.
• Mentor less experienced project managers and support training.
• Maintain professional engineering registration.
