Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an experienced Engineer 3, 4, or 5 to support bridge and structural design, preservation, load rating, plan development, and technical support for transportation infrastructure projects.

Positions are statewide and report to the Bridge Inspection Engineer; licensure as a professional engineer in Louisiana is required, with options for certification transfer from other states.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
• Engineer Intern Certificate from other states may apply; must obtain Louisiana E.I.C.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bridge and structural design activities for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Review or prepare plans, calculations, specifications, estimates, and structural details.
• Perform or assist with bridge load ratings, structural evaluations, or preservation activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, districts, construction staff, and other partners.
