Job summary

LaBella Associates in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Bridge Engineer to analyze, design and detail local and State DOT bridge projects under senior engineers. Responsibilities include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspections, and attending meetings as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a civil engineering degree (structural focus), 2–5 years of experience, PE license, and proficiency with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil engineering with structural concentration.
• 2–5 years of experience required.
• PE License required.
• Experience with listed software is a plus.
• Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, and detail local and State DOT bridge projects under supervision of senior engineers.
• Prepare reports, perform field reconnaissance and inspections.
• Attend meetings and conferences as necessary.

Job description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates to fill a Bridge Engineer position in our Charlotte, NC office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Ability to analyze, design, and detail local, State DOT bridge projects under the supervision of Senior level engineers.

Other responsibilities may include report preparation, field reconnaissance and inspection.

Attend meetings and conferences when necessary/required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (with concentration in structural engineering) from an ABET Accredited College.
2 to 5 years of experience
PE License
Experience with MicroStation, AutoCAD, SAP2000, Midas Civil, EnerCalc, and MathCAD is a plus.
Experience with Charlotte DOT and Charlotte bridge projects and their design software is a plus.
Familiarity with reinforced concrete and steel design
Strong communication and organization skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word & Excel
Desire to work in a team environment.
