GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a talented Project Engineer to work within our Transportation and Infrastructure Unit, in the West Virginia Sector. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a challenging, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment that will use their experience to develop professionally and grow. This position can operate out of various office locations across the U.S., with hybrid work options available.
Job Duties:
- Review design computations and drawings
- Review project submittals and coordinate design schedules
- Prepare and review project specifications and technical reports
- Maintain documentation of work and project records
- Develop accurate, clear, and deliverable drawings
- Perform quality work within project budgets
General Characteristics:
- Apply current engineering principles and practices relevant to the organization
- Resolve complex issues using expertise and innovative solutions
- Stay informed of new methods and recommend improvements
- Lead programs or major projects of moderate complexity
- Analyze complex problems across engineering specialties

Experience:
14+ years of relevant experience.
Education:
B.S. in Engineering or related field.
Certification/Licensure:
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with reciprocity in multiple states.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Serve as a technical advisor in advanced concepts and methods
- Recommend changes based on new developments
- Develop new techniques and improve processes
- Evaluate sustainable performance of complex projects from a systems perspective
Project and Task Management:
- Oversee project teams of engineers and technicians
- Plan and coordinate project documentation and activities
- Analyze project management plans
- Use risk management principles for project delivery
- Ensure operational procedures meet policies and performance measures
Management, Supervision, and Guidance:
- Work under broad supervision with general objectives
- Mentor senior staff
- Foster professional attitudes and teamwork
Communication, Teamwork, and Leadership:
- Apply strategic communication principles
- Represent the organization and liaise with stakeholders
- Engage with organizational leaders, clients, and contractors
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Consider social and environmental impacts of engineering decisions
