This role offers a unique chance to gain valuable experience on major DOT projects and occasional national projects, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with our expert team of roadway engineers. Your work will include a diverse range of projects such as roadway rehabilitations, bridge rehabilitations, new roadway designs, interstate widening/expansions, roundabouts, toll-lanes, and intersection improvements.

In this role: you will work on DOT and other projects, check and produce design calculations, review supplier drawing submittals, and perform technical bid analysis. Success will depend on your structural engineering experience in bridge design, providing guidance to junior engineers on various design projects.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Ensure bridges are designed according to federal, state, and local requirements, following accepted industry practices.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower-level Engineers.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineers.
  • Design structural elements for single span, multiple span, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, precast concrete, and steel bridges.
  • Prepare structural specifications, estimates, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
  • Create drawings, specifications, and other materials for procurement and construction.
  • Prepare requisitions for equipment and materials.
  • Review supplier drawings and perform bid analyses.
  • Develop and issue specifications, data sheets, and construction documents.
  • Seal and sign documents as a licensed professional engineer, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
What Qualifications You'll Bring:
  • BSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering; MSc preferred.
  • 8+ years of bridge design experience on highway infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with steel and concrete bridge design is essential.
  • DOT project experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency with CAD, CONSPAN, and structural design software.
  • P.E. license is required.
