Job summary

LaBella Associates is seeking a Project Manager in Civil Engineering for the Land Development Group in Greensboro, NC. The role involves leading site development designs, stormwater planning, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to deliver projects from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in a consulting environment, strong communication, and demonstrated project management skills; PE is encouraged and AutoCAD/HydroCAD experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in a consulting environment.
• Experience with Land Development design including Site/Grading/Utility Plans.
• Stormwater design experience and SWPP planning.
• Experience obtaining agency approvals.
• Experience in project management and budgeting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with clients, project teams, and external agencies.
• PE registration encouraged; CAD/HydroCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage Land Development Civil Engineering projects from start to finish with a team of junior engineers.
• Oversee the preparation of Civil Engineering Site Plans from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Prepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Interact with clients, attend meetings, mentor junior staff, prepare proposals and RFPs, coordinate with Architects and MEP engineers, attend public presentations, handle invoicing and agency approvals.

LaBella is currently seeking a Project Manager in Civil Engineering in our Land Development Group in our Greensboro, NC office.

Job Duties

• Independently manage Land Development Civil Engineering projects from start to finish with a team of junior engineers.
• Includes overseeing the preparation of Civil Engineering Site Plans from conceptual design through construction documents.
• Includes preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Project management responsibilities include client interaction, meeting attendance, mentorship of junior level staff, preparation of professional service proposals, preparation of request for proposals, coordination with Architects and MEP engineers, attendance at public presentations, project invoicing, agency approvals.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 8+ years of experience with demonstrated success in a professional consulting environment.
• Strong Land Development Design experience including preparation of Site/Grading/Utility Plans, Construction Details, and Conceptual Layout plans.
• Stormwater Design experience including preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
• Experience obtaining agency approvals.
• Experience in project management.
• Ability to effectively manage project budgets and workload by delegating to junior staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Candidate should possess the ability to interact effectively with clients, project teams, colleagues, and outside agencies.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently with teammates in different disciplines and in different locations.
• Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to make decisions by weighing different factors from multiple points of view.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged.
• AutoCAD and HydroCAD experience is preferred.
• Construction administration experience is preferred.
