Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Designer/EIT in the United States (Philadelphia area) to develop and detail bridge designs and perform structural analyses. The role emphasizes collaboration, compliance with industry standards, and advancement toward professional licensure.

You will work with a team on diverse bridge projects, including steel plate girder and prestressed concrete, using leading software tools. Local candidates are preferred, and Employee-Owned culture is strong at HDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• EIT certificate or ability to obtain one within career progression.
• Experience with bridge/structural design software.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques in the development of bridge designs.
• Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable) box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, and develop structural details using specialized software.
• Participate in bridge inspection, perform structural load calculations and assist with geometric layout and quantity development.
• Perform other duties as needed.
