Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a Structural Engineer to join our Florida team, specializing in bridge design while contributing to buildings, ports, and other transportation structures. You'll collaborate across disciplines and geographies on rewarding projects in Delray, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and beyond.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 5–10 years of bridge design experience, a PE license, and strong English technical writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of bridge design experience.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proven English technical writing and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs structural analysis and design of buildings, bridges, ports and other structures using industry-standard software.
• Work with CAD systems such as Reviit, MicroStation, and LEAP bridge design software.
• Plan creation, design, and checking for conventional buildings, bridge and port projects.
• Assist in preparing and modifying reports, studies, preliminary designs, and detailed designs across all phases.
• Projects involve superstructure, substructure, and foundation types for all structural designs.
• Assist in quantity take-offs and cost estimates; support design development.
• Design knowledge across concrete, steel, masonry, timber; piles and walls.
• Follow applicable codes: ACI, AISC, Florida Building Code, LRFD.
