Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing bridge-focused team across Florida locations and Mobile, AL. You will perform structural analysis and design for bridges, buildings, and ports using industry-standard software, with hands-on CAD experience in Revit, MicroStation, and LEAP Bridge.

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5–10 years of experience in bridge design.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Proven English technical writing and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Performs structural analysis and design of buildings, bridges, ports and other structures using industry-standard analysis and design software programs
• Plan creation, design, and checking for conventional buildings, bridge and port projects
• Assists in preparing and modifying reports, studies, preliminary designs, and detailed designs with all phases of structural project designs
• Projects will involve a variety of superstructure, substructure, and foundation types for all structural designs
• Assists in the preparation of quantity take-offs/calculations, preconstruction unit cost development, and cost estimates/engineer’s estimates for projects
• Have working knowledge in design of concrete, steel, concrete masonry, and timber as well as spread and pile foundations and retaining/sheet pile walls
• Have working knowledge of the ACI, AISC, Florida Building Code, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
