Job summary

Lochmueller Group in Northern Indiana seeks a Structural Project Engineer / Project Manager to lead bridge design projects for local agencies and DOT. The role blends strong technical structural engineering with project leadership to deliver complete design and construction documents.

Candidates should have a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, 7–10 years of bridge-focused experience, and solid communication plus MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis helpful.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7–10 years of Structural Engineering experience with emphasis on bridge design.
• Experience with project management and accounting software beneficial.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a project engineer and/or project manager on DOT and local agency bridge design projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge in bridge design and structural engineering.
• Lead design efforts on major projects or multiple projects of moderate scope.
• Lead the preparation of complete design and construction documents for bridge projects.
• Plan and coordinate engineering work and schedules.
• Provide bridge inspection services.
• Assist management as a technical specialist or advisor.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and funding proposals.
• Contribute to additional responsibilities and projects as they arise.
