Job summary

Lochmueller Group is seeking a Structural Project Engineer / Project Manager to join our Illinois Structures team. The candidate will lead DOT and local bridge design projects, prepare design and construction documents, and provide bridge inspection services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis is helpful
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or preferred
• 8+ years of Structural Engineering experience with an emphasis on bridge design
• Experience with project management and accounting software is beneficial
• Exceptional organization skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Perform as a project engineer and/or project manager on DOT and local agency bridge design projects.
• Lead the preparation of complete design and construction documents for bridge projects.
• Plan and coordinate aspects of the engineering work.
• Provide bridge inspection services.
• Assist management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
• Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
• Assist with preparation of proposals and funding applications.
