Job summary

Modjeski and Masters invites students to join our Structural Bridge Design Internship in St. Louis, MO. You will work with experienced bridge engineers on design, analysis, and rehabilitation of transportation structures while gaining hands-on skills.

Candidates must be pursuing a Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, with coursework in structural analysis and design. Proficiency in MS Office is expected; familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, STAAD, SAP2000, or OpenBridge

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Coursework in structural analysis, structural design, steel design, reinforced concrete design or related disciplines preferred.
Interest in structural engineering, bridge engineering and transportation infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Assist bridge engineers with the design, analysis, inspection and rehabilitation of bridges.
Support preparation of structural calculations, plans, specifications and cost estimates.
Develop bridge plans, details and construction documents.
Perform engineering calculations and research under licensed engineers.
Use engineering CAD software to support project development.
Participate in field visits and bridge inspections as needed.
Assist with data collection, reports and project documentation.
Collaborate with highway, geotechnical and construction teams.
