Job summary

Modjeski and Masters in New Orleans, LA seeks Civil Engineering students for a Co-Op/Internship in Field Services/Bridge Inspection. You’ll gain hands-on experience inspecting bridges, reading plans, and assisting with cost controls and project documentation.

The ideal candidate is a junior or senior pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, with coursework in structural engineering and good English communication. Proficiency in MS Office and CAD is a plus.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior pursuing BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college.
• Coursework in structural engineering preferred.
• Strong ability to read design plans, shop drawings, and as-built plans.
• Good English communication; technical writing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Bridge construction inspection and assisting with contract administration.
• Prepare inspection reports with maintenance and repair recommendations.
• Prepare repair plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Bridge construction oversight and monitoring for contract compliance.
• Emergency response to bridge-related emergencies as needed.
