Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Bridge Design Intern for Summer 2027 based in Grand Rapids, MI (also Farmington Hills possible). The internship offers exposure to transportation design, including road and civil projects for the DOT, with a focus on learning and contributing to real projects.

As part of our Transportation team, you will create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer, support engineers with calculations, and collaborate across offices to meet project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Previous internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.

Location: Grand Rapids or Farmington Hills

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Transportation team, you will assist in the design of roads, and other civil projects for the DOT.

What You’ll Do
  • Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
  • Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
