Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Bridge Design Intern for Summer 2027 in Farmington Hills, MI, with options in Grand Rapids as well. You will assist the Transportation team in designing roads and civil projects for the DOT, under a full-time internship.

The role offers hybrid-friendly schedules and hands-on experience with Autodesk tools, calculations, and project deliverables. The position emphasizes learning, collaboration across offices, and contributing to meaningful transportation projects through

Bridge Design Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Grand Rapids or Farmington Hills

Employment Type: Full-Time Internship

Working with our Transportation team, you will assist in the design of roads, and other civil projects for the DOT.

What You’ll Do

• Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
• Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.
