Job summary

HDR is seeking a Bridge Engineer in Anchorage, AK to support bid plans for bridges and related structures. You will apply structural design, analysis, and detailing techniques, develop details with software, and assist with load calculations and geometry.

The role involves project management on various sizes, review of work by junior engineers, and potential mega projects. A PE license and several design tools knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is preferred.
• SE license in AK or equivalent with ability to be licensed in AK.
• 3 years' experience in bridge design including calculations, plan development, specification development, and cost estimating.

Responsibilities

• Develop structural details using specialized software
• Bridge inspection
• Perform load rating calculations and assist with layout and studies
• Some CADD plan production may be required
• Serve as project manager or structures task lead
• Review and check design calculations, estimates, and specs by junior engineers and EITs
• Perform other duties as needed
