Job summary
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) in Cheyenne, Wyoming is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer II to perform design and design checks of steel and concrete bridges and related structures to ensure safety and quality for the state's transportation system.
Under supervision, you will utilize BRASS and other engineering software to prepare calculations, reviews, and project documentation, produce quantity estimates, and support structure selection and rehabilitation strategies in
Qualifications
- Knowledge of structural engineering design and theory per AASHTO specifications.
- Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems and produce complete, legible designs.
- Experience with engineering calculations, drawings, and cost estimates.
Responsibilities
- Design and design check of steel and concrete bridges and related structures.
- Review fabricator shop drawings for conformance with design.
- Produce calculations and project documentation using engineering software.
- Determine material quantities and construction costs.
- Support preliminary structure selections and rehabilitation strategies.
