Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. in Champaign, IL seeks a Bridge Associate I to contribute to the design and analysis of bridge and transportation projects, perform structural calculations, and develop construction plans using MicroStation/AutoCAD.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and gain hands-on experience on DOT and transportation clients. Entry-level role with growth opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to all phases of bridge design and project delivery within a national

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• 0-2 years’ experience designing structural systems for bridge projects.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, or other engineering design software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from office/project site.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of bridge and infrastructure project elements.
• Develop load calculations and structural design computations for project components.
• Prepare organized, detailed structural calculations and technical documentation.
• Design and draft structural elements, details, and connection designs.
• Develop plans and specifications using MicroStation software.
• Prepare complete and reviewable task deliverables that meet quality standards.
• Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within project budgets.
• Work independently under guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Review and check structural calculations and design work.
• Participate in coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
