Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Bridge Associate I to contribute to the design and analysis of bridge and transportation projects. You will develop construction plans, perform structural calculations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across DOT and transportation clients.

The role offers growth, mentorship, and exposure to all phases of bridge design and project delivery. Posting locations include Champaign, Lisle, and Normal, IL, with a hybrid work option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering is required.
• 0-2 years’ experience designing structural systems for bridge projects.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, or other engineering design software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Valid state driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis of bridge and infrastructure project elements.
• Develop load calculations and structural design computations for project components.
• Prepare organized, detailed structural calculations and technical documentation.
• Design and draft structural elements, details, and connection designs.
• Develop plans and specifications using MicroStation software.
• Prepare complete and reviewable task deliverables that meet quality standards.
• Complete assigned tasks on schedule and within established project budgets.
• Work independently under the guidance of Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Review and check structural calculations and design work.
• Participate in coordination meetings with multidisciplinary project teams.
