Louisiana DOTD in East Baton Rouge Parish seeks an Engineer Intern to support bridge and structural design for transportation projects. Training is provided, with opportunities for advancement through the Engineering job series and supervision by the Engineer 6.
Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate is required or pursued; positions may be filled at Engineer Intern Applicant, Intern 1, or Intern 2 levels.

DOTD is seeking a Bridge and Structural Design Engineer to support transportation projects and programs through bridge and structural design, bridge preservation, load rating, plan development, and technical support for transportation infrastructure projects. This position supports the development, delivery, maintenance, or improvement of transportation infrastructure by applying engineering principles, conducting technical analysis, coordinating projects, and conducting compliance-related reviews.
No prior engineering experience is required — training is provided, with opportunities for career progression and advancement through the Engineering job series.

Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
NOTE:
This is a temporary position to be utilized while the incumbent is securing a Louisiana Engineer Intern certificate. Permanent status shall be denied to incumbents occupying this position.

This position may be filled as a job appointment or probational appointment. A job appointment is a temporary appointment that may last up to 36 months. If filled as a job appointment, the position may be converted to a probational appointment in the future.
