Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineering Specialist to join our regional structural team in Texas/Oklahoma. You will design, assess, rehabilitate, and produce plans for bridges while gaining experience in both office and field settings.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams, applying AASHTO/AISC/ACI criteria and using OpenBridge and other design tools to support project delivery. Travel to site locations is possible.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain it after joining STV.
Working knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI design codes.
Foundational knowledge of structural analysis and the behavior and design of steel and reinforced concrete.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technical tools.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

Apply structural engineering calculations and bridge load ratings.
Prepare and review design calculations for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation structures.
Contribute to bridge assessments, evaluate repair options, and help develop construction drawings and specifications.
Apply AASHTO, AISC, and ACI criteria to engineering assignments.
Use structural analysis, design, modeling, and plan-production software to support project delivery.
Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary team members to keep schedules, deliverables, and project activities moving forward.
Participate in field assignments, site visits, bridge assessments, and any construction-related activities as needed.
