Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Specialist to join our growing regional structural team.

You will contribute to bridge design, assessment, rehabilitation, and plan production of bridges while gaining valuable experience in both office and field settings. You will partner with experienced engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge, support growth, and expand project responsibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training certification, or ability to obtain it within a reasonable period after joining STV.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI design codes.
• Foundational knowledge of structural analysis and the behavior and design of steel and reinforced concrete.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technical tools.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering calculations and bridge load ratings.
• Prepare and review design calculations for bridges, retaining walls, culverts and other structures.
• Contribute to bridge assessments, evaluate repair options, and develop construction drawings and specs.
• Apply AASHTO, AISC, ACI criteria to assignments.
• Use analysis, design, modeling, and plan-production software to support delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers and teams to keep schedules and deliverables moving.
• Participate in field assignments, site visits, and construction-related activities.
