Qualifications

• Strong technical skills required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills needed.
• Ability to travel for projects is necessary.
• Experience in structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, and pre-stressed concrete.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural engineering calculations and calculate load ratings.
• Prepare and check design calculations for bridges and other structures.
• Assist with preparation of construction documents.
• Coordinate with project manager on schedule and activities.

Skills

Familiar with AASHTO, AISC and ACI design codes

Experience on Texas DOT projects

CAD packages like Open Bridge Modeler, MicroStation and ORD

Education

Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification

FHWA-NHI Certification 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges
