Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking a Structural (Bridge) Engineering Specialist to join our growing regional structural team.

You will contribute to bridge design, assessment, rehabilitation, and plan production while gaining experience in both office and field settings. You will work with experienced engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams, expanding your engineering capabilities through design, field work, and increasing project responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain it after joining STV.
• Working knowledge of AASHTO, AISC, and ACI design codes.
• Foundational knowledge of structural analysis and behavior of steel and reinforced concrete.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; willingness to learn new tools.
• Clear verbal and written communication; detail-oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Apply structural engineering calculations and bridge load ratings.
• Prepare and review design calculations for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other structures.
• Contribute to bridge assessments, evaluate repair options, and assist with construction drawings and specs.
• Apply AASHTO, AISC, ACI criteria to assignments.
• Use analysis, design, modeling, and plan-production software for project delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to manage schedules and deliverables.
• Participate in field assignments, site visits, and construction-related activities as needed.
