Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking an experienced Bridge Department Manager to lead our Bridge Department in Wall Township, NJ. You will oversee project delivery, mentor staff, and strengthen relationships with NJDOT and other public-sector clients while guiding a growing transportation practice.

The role combines leadership, technical direction, and business development across a portfolio of bridge projects in New Jersey and the Northeast.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required; New Jersey PE license preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in bridge, structural, transportation, or related infrastructure engineering.
Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and/or managing a technical department preferred.
Experience with NJDOT, transportation authorities, counties, municipalities, and other public-sector clients preferred.
Proficiency with structural and transportation design software: LEAP Bridge, LARSA, MIDAS, CSiBridge, STAAD, or similar.

Responsibilities

Lead and oversee the Bridge Department, including project delivery, staffing, resource allocation, and quality control.
Serve as Senior Project Manager on complex bridge and transportation projects from planning through construction support.
Provide technical leadership on bridge design, rehabilitation, replacement, inspection, and load rating.
Develop and mentor bridge engineering staff and manage department growth.
Build and maintain client relationships with NJDOT and other public-sector clients.
