Job summary

French & Parrello Associates in Wall Township, NJ seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer – Bridge to provide technical leadership on complex bridge projects across New Jersey. You will mentor engineers, guide design and rehabilitation efforts, and help shape the future of the Bridge Department.

This role offers opportunities to work with NJDOT and other agencies, oversee QA/QC, and influence project delivery from concept through construction while advancing technical excellence in a growing regional

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Structural Engineering are required.
• Professional Engineer license with NJ/NY/PA reciprocity preferred or obtainable.
• 15+ years of progressive bridge design and structural engineering experience.
• Extensive experience with AASHTO LRFD and NJDOT standards.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and client engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for complex bridge design, rehabilitation, and transportation projects.
• Lead QA/QC reviews of plans, calculations, and reports.
• Oversee structural analysis and compliance with standards.
• Mentor engineers and develop department standards.
• Support business development and client presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across roadway, geotech, environmental.
