Job summary

Passaic County is seeking a Bridge Construction Inspector in the Engineering Department to inspect replacement and repair of bridges, culverts and related construction to ensure compliance with materials, standards and workmanship.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of progressive bridge inspection experience, a valid NJ driver’s license, and the ability to read and interpret plans. This full-time position offers competitive salary and benefits in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in the inspection of bridges or related construction.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and workmanship standards.
• Driver's license valid in NJ.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the repair and construction of bridges, culverts and related work to ensure compliance with materials and workmanship standards.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain construction journals.
• Prepare agendas and minutes for bi-weekly construction progress meetings and facilitate meetings.
• Check accuracy of contract plans and specifications.
• Discuss project schedules and material needs with contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain project records and files including shop drawings and RFIs.
