Job summary

Fort Myer Construction in the DMV seeks a General Laborer- Bridge to perform manual labor on bridge sites, assist with form work, concrete placement, and material handling. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.

Ideal candidates have 6 months to 1 year in heavy-highway construction, reliable transportation, and a safety-first mindset; 18+ years old, capable of heights and confined spaces, and able to pass background and drug screenings.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of heavy-highway construction or outdoors work.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Follow supervisor direction and safety rules; pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Site preparation and debris clearing; level ground and trenching.
• Load/unload materials like concrete, rebar, lumber.
• Set up and dismantle scaffolding and formwork.
• Assist with concrete pouring and placement; mix concrete.
• Use hand tools for excavation and cleanup; operate power tools as needed.
• Signal equipment operators and help maintain traffic control devices.
• Perform repairs of guardrails; patch concrete and replace floors on bridges.
