Job summary

The Great Lakes Construction Co. is seeking experienced Carpenters, including Foreman and Journeymen, for heavy highway/civil bridge projects in Northeast Ohio. Ideal candidates should have experience with formwork for bridges and water/wastewater treatment facilities.

This hourly position requires 40 hours work from Monday to Friday, with flexibility for urgent issues. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions and demonstrate physical capabilities required for construction tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of or willing to join the Carpenters Union (UBC).
• Journeyman experienced in structural concrete on bridges.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings/plans.
• Select specific sizes/types of lumber for the job.
• Prepare layout and brace formwork.
• Assemble overhang modules and wood deck forms.
• Assist in placing and finishing concrete.
