Job summary

Kokosing is seeking Carpenters for heavy highway – roadway/bridge projects in the Tidewater area of Virginia (Chesapeake/Norfolk/Newport News). The role requires experience with form work for bridges/structures and a valid carpentry background.

The worker will construct, erect, and repair structures with emphasis on safe use of tools and adherence to blueprints. The position emphasizes reading blueprints, setting forms for concrete, and working on elevated forms with fall protection.

Qualifications

• Carpenter Training Program or equivalent, or experience in bridge work, i.e. bridge form work.
• Read blueprints, sketches, or bridge plans for information pertaining to material requirements.
• Skilled in the use of necessary hand and power tools; able to work with level.

Responsibilities

• Construct, erect, and repair structures; must have own hand tools.
• Read blueprints and bridge plans to determine material needs and layouts.
• Assemble and set forms, braces, and supports for concrete piers, footings, and walls.
