Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. in Asheville, NC seeks a Bridge Carpenter for the I-26 Downtown Connector project. You will measure, cut, and install wooden bridge structures and drainage components, following prefabricated layouts and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of verifiable carpentry experience, can climb scaffolds or ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Team collaboration and weather adaptability are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must be able to comply with all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Measure distance and mark guidelines on the working surface for layout.
• Prepare, build, and install wooden structures for bridges and drainage.
• Assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs.
• Use carpenter's belt with hand tools, power tools, and related machinery.
