Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Bridge Carpenter for the NC197 PDB project in Burnsville, NC. This role involves constructing, erecting, and installing wooden structures for bridges and related components at heavy civil sites across our Transportation division.

Responsibilities include measuring, marking, assembling prefabricated units, and using carpentry tools and machinery. The candidate should be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and pass drug screening. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years verifiable experience preferred.
• Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; may work in adverse weather conditions.
• Must comply with safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn.
• Good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Measures distance and marks guidelines on working surface to prepare for laying down work.
• Prepares, builds, and installs wooden structures in line with prefabricated units for bridges, drains, walls and other structures.
• May assist with installation of awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs (if decking is removed).
• Uses carpenter’s belt with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
