Thimble Alterations seeks an experienced bridal seamstress to guide brides through the alteration journey from first consult to final fitting. You will work one-on-one with brides, set your schedule, and manage gown alterations for high-value wedding dresses.

The role emphasizes personalized fittings, expert tailoring, and clear communication to frame timelines and expectations for wedding day success.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience (portfolio or references welcomed).
• Confidence working with high-value gowns and the patience to fit them properly.
• Strong customer-facing presence — brides remember the seamstress who calmed their nerves.
• Reliable workspace with adequate space for fitting and steaming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns for each bride: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference.
• Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown.
• Walk brides through possible options, timelines, and expectations on the wedding day.
