Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This is an independent contractor role with bookings managed via the platform; you set your schedule and rates within guidelines for local area.

You will conduct fittings, customize gowns (hemming, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeves), create bustles, and handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride gowns.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated bridal alteration experience; portfolio or references welcomed.
• Confident working with high-value gowns and patient fitting.
• Strong customer-facing presence and ability to calm brides.
• Reliable workspace with space for fitting and steaming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to design and preference.
• Handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride gowns alongside main gown.
• Explain timelines and expectations to brides during the process.
