Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides throughout the alteration process. This independent contractor role provides bookings through our platform and lets you set your schedule and rates within platform guidelines.

You will perform fittings, tailor wedding gowns and related attire, and guide brides on options, timelines, and expectations for the big day.

Qualifications

• Bridal alteration experience with portfolio or references.
• Confidence handling high-value gowns and fittings.
• Strong customer-facing presence to reassure brides.
• Reliable workspace with room for fitting and steaming.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline, sleeves.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride’s preference.
• Handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride gowns alongside main gown.
• Explain timelines, possibilities, and expectations for the day.
