Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work closely with brides through the entire alteration process. This is an independent contractor role with bookings provided through our platform.

You will conduct fittings, customize gowns, tailor bustles, and manage related attire like bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride gowns. You’ll guide brides through possibilities, timelines, and day-of expectations, while maintaining a calm, professional presence.

Qualifications

• Bridal alteration experience is required.
• Portfolio or references welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to dress design and bride’s preference.
• Handle bridesmaid and mother-of-the-bride gowns alongside the main gown.
• Explain timelines and expectations during the fitting process.
