Job summary

Thimble Alterations is seeking an experienced bridal seamstress to work one-on-one with brides through the entire alteration process. This independent contractor role uses bookings provided through our platform.

You will conduct fittings, customize gowns (hemming, seams, bodice shaping, neckline, sleeves), create bustles, and coordinate accessory attire for bridesmaids and mothers-of-the-bride. You set your own schedule within platform guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with bridal alterations and fittings.
• Portfolio or references welcomed.
• Comfort working with high-value gowns.
• Strong customer-facing presence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct first, second, and final fittings with brides for their wedding gowns.
• Customize gowns for each bride: hemming, side seams, bodice shaping, neckline adjustments, sleeve modifications.
• Create bustles tailored to the dress design and the bride's preference.
• Handle bridesmaid dresses, mother-of-the-bride gowns, and ceremony attire alongside the main gown.
• Walk brides through what is possible with their dress, timelines, and what to expect on the day.
