Job summary

AB InBev Group in St. Louis, MO is seeking an experienced Brewery Area Manager to own budget and performance of brewing or packaging processes. You will develop action plans to meet KPIs, manage inventories, and coordinate production schedules in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, problem solving, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to drive change and lead teams on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years experience as a supervisor in a unionized production department (preferred).
• Willingness to work multiple shifts including weekends.
• Strong leadership, change management, and communication skills.
• Experience with continuous improvement tools and processes.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Front-line manager role supervising a team of unionized employees in a 24/7 production facility to optimize production efficiency.
• Learn packaging processes through hands-on training.
• Develop, monitor, and maintain production plans, inventories, and schedules to ensure excellent process performance and product quality.
• Involved in planning, directing, and managing packaging activities to achieve KPI targets.
• Identify areas to improve operations to meet or exceed KPIs.
• Ensure daily production efficiencies, quality expectations, and schedule attainment.
• Execute health and safety programs and enforce safety/quality standards.
• Create and implement tools/resources to improve quality, safety, efficiency.
• Utilize Management System tools to achieve metric targets and close gaps (root cause, 5 Why, PDCA, SDCA).
• Oversee preventative maintenance in area of responsibility.
• Ensure SOPs are followed.
• Develop your team through upskilling and coaching.
• Lead and coach teams through problem solving and monitoring key processes/equipment.
• Promote safe working practices and compliance with labor contracts.
• Manage relationships with union as needed; discipline and grievances where applicable.
• Drive process improvements with senior leaders.
