Job summary

Unified Women’s Healthcare is seeking a Breast Ultrasound Technologist Float for its Mammography offices in Fulton and Silver Spring, MD. The role performs clinical breast ultrasound procedures and provides technical information to assist the radiologist in diagnosis.

A successful candidate will be ARDMS registered, with 2+ years of breast sonography experience, and proficient in PACS and RIS. Excellent communication in English is required, and coverage across multiple locations is expected.

Qualifications

• ARDMS registered sonographer.
• Must have or be eligible for ARDMS Advanced Breast Registry or ARRT Breast Sonography certification within six months of hire.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Breast Sonographer.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Experience in an imaging environment preferred.
• Proficient in PACS and RIS systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound examinations and ensure transducer captures images correctly.
• Explain ultrasound procedure to patients to avoid confusion.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and sterilize the room.
• Evaluate image quality and assist radiologists with interpretation.
• Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and healthcare team.
• Maintain patient records and imaging notes.
• Collaborate with Mammography technologists and radiologists for proper information capture.
• Review prior images and reports before exams.
• Utilize PACS, EMR, and imaging-related systems.
