Job summary

Onsite Women's Health seeks a certified breast imaging sonographer to independently operate ultrasound equipment, perform diagnostic breast examinations, and communicate results to physicians. You will manage daily sonography lab operations, maintain equipment, and contribute to QA programs in a patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography.
• ARDMS certification in Ultrasound.
• ARDMS or ARRT Breast Certification is desired; breast imaging experience a must.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.
• Active certification by ARDMS in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• Self-starter who can work without daily supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic examination.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
• Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of medical necessity.
• Evaluate contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and patient ability to tolerate the examination.
• Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to their understanding.
• Use ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and data quality.
• Conduct diagnostic sonography exams ordered by the supervising physician and document findings.
• Apply professional judgment to safely perform procedures.
• Identify and document limitations to the examination.
• Review images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
• Provide preliminary reports to the interpreting physician.
• Assist with daily operation of the sonography facility.

Education

ARDMS certification in Ultrasound

ARDMS or ARRT Breast Certification is desired; breast imaging experience a must

Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable

Active certification by ARDMS in the specialty(ies) as appropriate
