Job summary

Onsite Women's Health is seeking a certified Breast Ultrasound Technologist to join its diagnostic team. You will independently operate sonographic equipment and perform diagnostic breast examinations with expert communication.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, maintaining equipment, reviewing patient history, and reporting preliminary findings to the supervising physician. ARDMS certification and breast imaging experience are required or desired.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Sonography.
• ARDMS certification in Ultrasound.
• ARDMS or ARRT Breast Certification is desired; breast imaging experience a must.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable.
• Active certification by American Registry of RDMSs (ARDMS) in the specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• Current CME requirements for specialty(ies) as appropriate.
• Self-starter who can work without daily supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections control, safety, and patient protocols.
• Assume responsibility for the safety of the patient during the sonographic examination.
• Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information.
• Ensure the examination order is complete and medically necessary.
• Evaluate contraindications and patient preparation for the examination.
• Communicate with the patient effectively.
• Use proper positioning tools and scanning techniques for accuracy and safety.
• Perform diagnostic sonography examinations ordered by supervising physician.
• Apply professional judgment to safely perform procedures.
• Capture appropriate images for interpretation.
• Refer diagnostic questions to the physician as needed.
• Acquire additional ultrasound imaging as necessary.
• Identify limitations of the examination.
• Review images, synthesize results, and prepare preliminary findings.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Adhere to professional and ethical standards.
• Provide patient services per Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards.
• Provide preliminary report for interpreting physician.
• Assist with daily operation of the lab.
