Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine, as part of the Renaissance School of Medicine, seeks a Division Chief of Breast Surgery to lead a comprehensive breast surgery program. The role combines clinical leadership, program development, and scholarly activity within a premier academic medical center.

The successful candidate will advance patient care, education, and research, building strong multidisciplinary collaborations and leading clinical quality and program growth across the division.

Qualifications

• MD degree and completion of an accredited General Surgery residency.
• Fellowship training in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology.
• Board-certified in General Surgery.
• Eligible for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at RSOM.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and strategic development for the Breast Surgery Division.
• Lead academic mission including resident/fellow education, research, and curriculum development.
• Oversee divisional operations: recruitment, performance management, budgeting, resources.
• Foster multidisciplinary collaboration with medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, plastic surgery, and supportive services.
• Support establishment of Breast Fellowship Program and expand clinical programs and outcomes.
