Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Hackettstown, NJ seeks a Radiologic Technologist to operate X-ray equipment and assist physicians during imaging procedures, reviewing prior reports to ensure accurate imaging and proper documentation.

The role includes mammography specialization, adherence to radiation safety, and collaboration with multiple departments to ensure timely, high-quality exams and proper specimen labeling when needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in an accredited RT Program or related field.
• NJ DEP license.
• ARRT Radiography Certification.
• CPR Certified.
• Minimum 200 mammography exams in past 24 months (preferred).
• ARRT Mammography certification within 1 year of hire (preferred).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a staff technologist in Mammography or related area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Position patient on examining table and adjust immobilization devices for optimum views.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
• Set exposure factors using knowledge of radiographic techniques and protocols.
• Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
• Operate mobile x-ray equipment in OR, ER, or bedside.
• Specialize in screening and diagnostic mammography imaging.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
